Palatine Epoxy Floors is an epoxy flooring contractor based in Palatine, IL, with more than 20 years of experience preparing, repairing and coating concrete. We coat garage floors, basements, workshops and commercial slabs, and we spend as much care on the concrete underneath as on the finish people see.
Most of the floors we are asked to look at have failed for reasons that were decided before the first coat went down: an etched slab instead of a ground one, a damp basement nobody tested, or an old coating left in place under a new one. Our work is built around avoiding those mistakes, one floor at a time.
Our Approach

Every slab we coat is opened with a diamond grinder or shot blaster; we do not acid etch. Moisture testing is written into the scope for garages and basements alike, because a garage slab poured to code may have no vapor retarder beneath it and a basement here sits in soil that holds spring groundwater. Curing is scheduled by slab temperature and dew point rather than by the calendar, and when an unheated garage has to wait for spring, we say so.
We read the cracks and the old coating before quoting, and we tell you plainly when a slab needs repair first or when a crack will keep moving under any coating. Our proposals name the product, the system build and the finished thickness, so what was quoted can be checked against what went down. Warranty exclusions are read out before the job is sold, with moisture first, and every home job comes with a written contract and the state’s Home Repair: Know Your Consumer Rights pamphlet, as Illinois law requires.
Illinois issues no state license for flooring or coating work, so instead of a license number we provide the village registration, bond and insurance each municipality asks for. Products are chosen within the Illinois VOC limits, which bind installers as well as manufacturers. We schedule townhome and condominium jobs around association rules and neighbors’ access to their garages, keep work inside each village’s permitted hours, and plan commercial jobs around the hours a building has to stay open. We also never sell a floor coating as radon reduction, since that work requires a state mitigation license.
What We Do
We install epoxy garage floors, polyaspartic floor coatings, flake and metallic epoxy floors, basement floor epoxy and polished concrete floors, and we handle concrete floor repair and concrete grinding for slabs that need work first. For businesses, we install commercial epoxy flooring, ESD flooring and commercial kitchen flooring built to the Illinois Food Code. If you have a floor in mind, request a free estimate and we will come look at the slab, test it and give you a written proposal you can compare line by line.
